Opportunities for Summer Service Offered through ASPiRE

VCU ASPiRE will offer opportunities for VCU faculty/staff members to use their Community Service Leave this summer. All VCU staff and 12-month faculty are eligible for 16 hours of Community Service Leave to participate in service opportunities in the community.

“We will do all of the heavy lifting, including transportation, coordinating logistics with the community partner and facilitating a debrief session following your service experience,” said Nannette Bailey, ASPiRE community partnerships coordinator.

Potential service opportunities include:

  • East End Cemetery Restoration Project
  • FeedMore Food Bank Sorting or Community Kitchen
  • Peter Paul Development Center Food Distribution
  • Habitat for Humanity ReStore
  • Hands Up Ministries Home Building Project
  • Maymont Park

Interested departments/units should recruit a group of at least three to four individuals (11 max) and contact Bailey at with the dates/times that work for the group (between May 15 to July 14, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and one or more partners/events/impact areas of particular interest.
