A range of academic services are offered as part of the VCU ASPiRE program to promote student success. Through collaborations with Campus Learning Center, Writing Center, Financial Aid, Undeclared / Discovery Advising, University Career Center, and other support networks, ASPiRE program participants have access to in-hall support services. By taking advantage of programming and one-on-one consultation services, students will gain assistance with identifying sources for financing their education, building effective personal statements and resumes, and improving study and time management skills.
Advising services are offered to all ASPiRE students as an orientation to the academic and co-curricular requirements of the program. All ASPiRE students attend a minimum of one advising sessions during their first semester of the program. Students needing assistance with fulfilling co-curricular requirements or who complete less than 25 hours of the co-curricular experience during each semester will be called in for mandatory advising sessions with program staff.
ASPiRE students are invited to schedule advising appointments with program staff at any time. For further information about academic services and/or advising, e-mail Nerice Lochansky, assistant director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (804) 827-3917.
